Job Description 

Position Overview 

The Manager, Procurement is responsible for managing procurement activities to support the development, construction, and operation of projects within Cordelio’s portfolio.  

Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role is best suited for a person with a strong track record working in a procurement function within the electric power generation and/or transmission industry looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. 

This role is available to eligible US or Canada based candidates with in-office or remote accommodations.

Responsibilities 

  • Create and execute processes to procure equipment for Cordelio’s development and operational projects in the US and Canada, with an initial focus on day-to-day ownership of high-voltage equipment procurement (transformers, circuit breakers, etc.) and supporting efforts for other major equipment (PV modules, wind turbines, batteries, inverters, trackers, etc.) 
  • Work closely with legal, technical, and other team members during selection, contracting, and execution processes to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships, including searching for and evaluating new vendors.

  • Track and manage Cordelio’s self-procured equipment, including milestone payments or other commercial requirements, design reviews, storage and maintenance requirements, etc.

  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to effectively manage handoff of equipment supply agreement management to ensure overall project success.

  • Provide input to processes managed by other groups within the organization, including legal and regulatory compliance, finance, development, operations, and internal approvals.

  • Manage vendor qualification and quality assurance processes. 

Skills & Requirements

  •  2-5 years of relevant experience in procurement management within the renewable energy sector.
  • Working knowledge of renewable project (wind, solar, battery) components, including substation equipment.

  • Track record of working with vendors to negotiate commercial and technical aspects of equipment supply agreements.

  • Ability to collect and synthesize requirements from multiple project stakeholders to lead equipment valuation and suitability review efforts.

  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines.

  •  Strong knowledge of MS Office applications.

  • Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction and time sensitive deadlines.

  • Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.

Additional Requirements and Success Factors 

  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to scale and take on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated impact in previous roles.

  • Industry experience is desirable, but candidates with relevant functional, rather than industry-specific experience, will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Travel Requirements 

  • Up to 5-15% primarily domestically (U.S. and Canada). Includes travel to remote project locations, contractor offices/facilities, company offices and events, and technical conferences.

Location 

  • This position offers the opportunity to work in one of our office locations, remote/telecommute/work-from-home or relocate to an existing or future office.

Compensation & Benefits 

  • The compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
